I just read this news reported by Bernama: Don’t Question Authenticity Of Report On Economic Performance
I’m neither an economist nor an expert in finance. I just want to share my view here.
Majority of rakyat do not care whether Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) get higher and higher and make new record high. Even most of them do not understand the economic value in our Bajet 2007 nor Wilayah Pembangunan Iskandar. GDP? They don’t care. Bank Negara Malaysia interest rate? Hm… CPO price reached RM 2300 per tonne? What… our RM strengthen than USD?
What do most of rakyat know is their life expenses got higher and higher. They have to feed their family. Their children still have to go to school. They have mountain of debt to be paid. They are worrying that when they bring RM 100 to any supermarket, it is just enough for diapers, milk, sugar, flour, cooking oil, rice, and some ikan or chicken or meat or veggies.
They have to think twice now to balik kampung or visit old friends all over the country because they have to use PLUS highway and the cost of journey now almost doubled than the previous years.
They are all good citizen. They are thankful to government when Pak Lah just announced a pay rise but they think it is much better to make sure price of essentials goods get lower and lower. Toll fare get lower and lower. Petrol price go lower and lower.
Sometimes, they don’t have other choices except to believe all the illegal investment scheme, because it is better than seek an aid from along.
We, problogger, internet marketeers, with little knowledge on finance had gived them words of advice and warnings since very very long time ago, even long long long time ago before Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan, about all this illegal scheme. Yet, your colleagues labeled us as liars and unemployed women.

walaupun hmpir 5thn bekerja di luar negara dan pulang sekali setahun ke tanahair, saya dpt merasakan kesusahan dan keperitan rakyat Malaysia.Tol dan petrol sudah cukup menyesakkan rakyat..bagi pendapat saya almost 5% dari salary sudah dibuang utk both of that not for saving.btw tahniah utk gov staf semoga taraf kehidupan semakin bertambah baik…
