From my understanding, I do not think ETF is a unit trust fund as mentioned above. It might be similar to unit trust fund but the features and characteristics are different. For instance, ETF cannot be diversified as opposed to unit trust fund. Furthermore, if the present unit trust fund is still prevalent amongst investors, there isn't a need to introduce a new concept to the market. The Shariah compliant ETF has been introduced before in the year 1998 and 2005. myETF is Asia's first ETF which is Shariah compliant. Industry experts believes that with the current subprime mortgage crisis, myETF will attract investors especially from the Middle East with petrol money.

next, the cost is cheaper. and also ETF more transparent than UT.

either UT or ETF, timing do make differences.

Other than liquidity, why shud we invest in ETF? Also, I don't quite get the concept. Kalau ETF ni nak match dengan index, does it matter when we buy? Ada market timing ke? Kalau UT, market timing doesn't matter kan? Boleh explain, Pakdi?
