“We must break the shackles of rigidity and dogma that currently envelop Islam. We must go beyond rituals and ceremonies in Islam,” he said.
Though the speech seems rethoric in nature, but I agree with this concept. We shall look Quran & Sunnah from business perspective too. There are no other principles which greater than Sunnah of Muhammad b Abdullah.
Let us look few sunnah / history of Muhammad saw:
1. Muhammad Abdullah is a trader. He had followed his uncle in business trade expedition since 9 years old.
2. Muhammad Abdullah have a business venture with Khadijah al-Khuwailid which later they become a husband and wife.
3. Family of Hashim & Mutalib were having trade embargo for 3 years and they can still survive though they were really suffered .
Business Lessons
1. What are you doing when you were 9 years old? Would you allow your child to learn business at early age?
2. Do you have a business venture / investment plan which both of you, husband & wife involve together? If either one is not in active management, at least, he / she must really knows what you are doing.
3. Have you prepared for bad financial years at least for 3 years?
Yes, Islam is not only rituals.
